1 March 2012Untill the deadline on the 2nd of January 2012 young civil servants working for local governments in developing or transitional countries (see countrylist) can apply to participate in on of the three Talentprogrammes of 2012.

1 March 2012In the exiting climax of the first round of the ASN worldprize contest Talent for Governance just missed climbing into the top ten projects still competing for the first prize. We want to thank everyone who voted for us.
Talent for Governance is a conteder in the ASN worldprize 2011 competition. ASN Bank supports good ideas and projects that promote a sustainable society. Talent for Governance competes for the theme prize on ‘Sustainable Energy’ of 10.000 euros. If we win the prize the money will go specifically to fund the talentprogramme ‘Climate Change and Sustainable local development’.
It was busy at this years’ meeting of the Association of Dutch Municipalities in the Achterhoek. And not only because of a clash with the central government on budget cuts, but especially because of the the great prizes that were to be won at the stand of Talent for Governance.

1 March 2012Having dinner with Ralph Pans, director at VNG or getting to know all about the achitecture in the municipality of Almere together with Annemarie Jorritsma, the president of the board of VNG. These are the first prizes to be won in the stand of Talent for Governance on 7 june during the annual VNG congress.

On 24 March 2011 the Young Civil Servants day was held in Eindhoven. A day with the theme ‘crossing the border…’. What a perfect place for five civil servants from across the border to be present this day!

From the 23rd of March until the 8th of April five talented civil servants have been selected to take part in the Talent for Governance programme. They will attend the training course on ‘Leadership and management’ at The Hague Academy for Local Governance and afterwards follow a short internship at a Dutch local government. .The Congress- and Studycentre befriends Talent for Governance
16 February 2011This week the Congress-and Studycentre of the Association of Dutch municipalities has decided to befriend Talent for Governance for the third year. The centre offers Talent for Governance a much needed stand at the information fair at the yearly held conference of the Association of Dutch Municipalities.
.September programme 2010 very succesful
27 September 2010“On a global view, we, the civil servants all around the world, may work in different places, but we all work for one purpose, the development of our society towards a better quality of life.” This is the opinion of Panji Winarno, one of the five talents who have successfully followed the Talent for Governance programme from 5 September to 25 September.
As many as 44 employees of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen have decided to donate this year’s Christmas gift (given by their employer) to Talent for Governance and to help their colleagues in developing countries to share knowledge and experience in the Netherlands. We are very grateful because it is an amount of no less than € 3000, -! We of course hope that many others will follow so we are able to keep up the good work and support even more “talents”.
